Satan’s war on the Jews and the Saints
Satan hates God-fearing people which means that he hates the Jews and believers in Jesus Christ and anyone Satan hates, he wants to destroy.
The Antichrist’s war against the Jews
God has promised that He’ll bring a remnant of Jews to faith in Jesus at the end of the seven year tribulation and since Satan doesn’t want this to happen he’ll wage war on them. This means that there will be another Jewish holocaust before Christ returns. I think this will begin in the middle of the tribulation when the Antichrist sets up the abomination that makes the soon-to-be-built third Jewish temple desolate.
“Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath. For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be”.
When Satan is cast down from heaven to the earth he will give his power to the Antichrist (Revelation 13:2) and inspire him to utterly destroy the Jews. One third of the Jewish people will die during the great tribulation (Zechariah 13:8). The Antichrist won’t be able to destroy them all because God will supernaturally protect and nourish a remnant of them during the last half of the tribulation (Revelation 12:13-14) which is a span of three and a half years.
Many believe that the Jews who survive will flee to modern day Jordan because the prophet Daniel foretold that the Antichrist won’t be able to conquer Edom, Moab, and Ammon, which is today known as Jordan.
He shall also enter the Glorious Land, and many countries shall be overthrown; but these shall escape from his hand: Edom, Moab, and the prominent people of Ammon.
By the way, Jordan is part of the land that God promised to the Jewish people, so you could say that the surviving Jews will flee to another part of the promised land.
The Antichrist’s war against believers
The Antichrist will also wage war against the saints.
And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
We can know that this verse refers to the people who come to faith in Christ during the tribulation because the people who are saved before the tribulation begins will have been caught up to meet the Lord in the air and are with Jesus in heaven by this time (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18).
We know that the Antichrist will be successful in his war against the saints because Revelation 7:9-14 tells us there will be a great multitude of believers in heaven during the great tribulation. This is to say that the Antichrist will be successful in killing the bodies of the saints, but he won’t be able to destroy their souls because those who hold to their faith and refuse to deny Jesus Christ as Lord will receive eternal life.
If you’re a Jew living in Judea (West Bank) when you see the Antichrist setup an abomination in the Jewish temple that will be rebuilt in Jerusalem and you see him declare himself to be God and put an end to animal sacrifices, run for your life. You won’t have time to plan your escape or even go into your house to gather your possessions or to even to get your coat. Jesus, the Messiah foretold of this event so that you might be saved.
Beloved, if you haven’t accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, please do so today. The rapture of Christ’s church is imminent and world events are aligning in such a way that the seven-year tribulation could start at any time. I think by now you can see why you really don’t want to be on the earth during the tribulation. So please don’t gamble with your eternity.
If you’re already a believer in Jesus Christ and have received the Holy Spirit, then please spread the good seed of the gospel of Jesus Christ while there’s still time to save your friends, family, and neighbors from the time of sorrows that is to come.
If you’ve missed the rapture of the church but have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior during the tribulation, then hold fast to your faith even if it costs you your life. It probably will because your chances of surviving to the end of the seven years is extremely small. But if you stay true to your faith in the Lord Jesus to the end, you will have a reward in heaven.
I’ve been a Christian for more than 40 years. In 2013, I began growing in a closer relationship with God as I turned over more and more of my life to Him and asked Him for wisdom. Since then, I’ve been strongly compelled to share God's word and to warn others that we need to get ready because Jesus is coming soon.
